
At our workshop in Kiln Farm, we’re used to thinking big. On any given day, our team is designing, manufacturing and installing anything from large scale external signs to physically smaller car parking signs, shop fronts, wall and glass vinyls. So, when a single garden spade landed on the workbench, it definitely stood out. Branding a spade is a bit of a departure from our "usual" projects, but for a client like The Parks Trust, it made perfect sense.
The Parks Trust is a Milton Keynes charity that cares for over 6,000 acres of parkland and woodland across the city. As well as their expert teams managing the landscapes and engaging communities with green spaces, the trust is also supported by 240 amazing volunteers. This branded spade was destined for community events where locals come together to plant the trees and shrubs that will form the canopy of the future Milton Keynes.
We were particularly honoured to learn that the spade was recently used for a truly special occasion. It played a starring role in the planting of ‘The Tree of Hope’. The sycamore sapling, is one of a small number grown from the seeds of the iconic tree felled at Sycamore Gap, near Hadrian’s Wall.
